1. DATES


Start Date for abstract submission - September 18, 2023 at 00:00 GMT


Deadline for abstract submission - October 23, 2023 at 23:59 GMT


 


2. TYPE OF PRESENTATION 


Accepted abstracts will be presented in the concurrent sessions as oral communications.


The presentation must be prepared so as not to exceed 7 minutes of presentation and 3 minutes of discussion. Please mention any potential conflicts of interest. A statement regarding conflicts of interest must be included in the submission.


 


3. THEMATIC AXES FOR SUBMISSION


Given the thematic focus of the event - Infection Prevention and Control, when submitting the abstract you must identify in which of the following thematic axis your study fits in best:


- Evidence-based practice


- Innovation and Clinical Safety


- Education and training 


 



4. SPECIFIC CRITERIA FOR ABSTRACT PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION


The abstracts should comply with the criteria (scientific and formal) established by the Scientific Committee of this event:


 


Scientific Criteria:


a) The knowledge in the submitted abstract should be current and relevant;


b) Priority will be given to empirical research studies and systematic reviews;


c) Authors may present results of completed studies. Results from studies in progress may also be accepted;


d) The authors must fill in all fields in the submission form, respecting the scientific content specific to each field;


e) The content of the presentations is a responsibility of the authors and presenter.


 


Formal Criteria:


a) Authors must indicate the thematic axis of their presentations;


b) Each presentation can only fit into one of the thematic axis;


c) Each presentation cannot have more than 10 authors;


d) Each author cannot be included in more than 3 abstracts/presentations (participation in a symposium is excluded);


e) Only 1 of the authors can be the Presenter and his/her name must be indicated in the submission form;


f) Each author can present a maximum of 3 presentations;


g) Abstracts must be submitted in English;


h) All presentations must be submitted through the conference webpage (those submitted by fax or email will not be accepted);


i) All fields in the submission form must be completed, without exceeding the following number of words:


. Introduction - max. 100 words;


. Objectives - max. 30 words;


. Methodology - max. 100 words;


. Results - max. 200 words;


. Conclusions - max. 100 words;


. Keywords – min. 1 keyword and max. 5 keywords;


. References – min. 1 reference and max. 4 references (APA style, 6th Edition);


 


5. PEER REVIEW


Abstracts will be assessed by two reviewers who are members of the scientific peer review committee of the event. Confirmation of acceptance or rejection will be sent by email.


 


6. PREPARATION/SUBMISSION OF FILES & PRESENTATION


Once the abstract has been accepted, authors must prepare and submit the final presentation using the template provided by the Organizing Committee. Authors are not required to submit their final presentation, but must be able to share their presentation on the day of the event (through Zoom screen share option).


 


7. PRESENTATION


Presenters must be at the virtual room on the date and time indicated in the timetable, which will be available in advance. Each parallel session will be moderated.


The presentation must not exceed the stipulated time limit, so that the other participants have enough time to carry out their communications and allow for a fruitful discussion. The times defined for each presentation will be strictly adhered to.


 


8. CERTIFICATE


The presentation certificate will be issued according to the data provided in the submission form. It will include: the title of the free communication, the name of the authors, the name of the presenter, the date of the event and the name of the event.


Free communications accepted and presented according to the timetable will be certified. Communications that were not presented at the time and date set will not be certified. The certificate will be issued in a single copy and will be made available online, to the presenter, at the end of the event. The organization will not make corrections to the certificates.
